20/01/2010 //
The EEA and Norway Grants fund for scholarships and exchange of experts was launched on the 19th of June 2009. It amounts to € 1.4 and is co-financed with 10% by the Slovenian Government Office for Development and European Affairs (GODEA). The fund intermediary, Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes, CMEPIUS, launched two open calls during the fall 2009 to distribute the money.
70% of the total grant amount is earmarked for individual mobility, 15% is earmarked for study visits, and 15% is earmarked for expert exchange. Activities under the fund are open to all academic fields.
The aim of the fund is to support international cooperation, transnational partnerships and implementation of mobility projects in order to enhance internationalization of higher education and research in Slovenia in cooperation with the EEA/EFTA countries. Slovenian students, staff, researchers and experts wishing to study or work at a higher education institution in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway will be given the chance to do so. The mobility projects are expected to increase institutional cooperation and set up future mobility activities between Slovenia and the EEA EFTA countries.
