Photo: Bård LundeThe Norwegian ambassador, Guro Katharina H. Vikør, and the Swedish ambassador, Inger Ultvedt, got to greet Rybak during his rehearsal before the show. His appearance was as usual joyful and filled with big smiles. Alexander left the ambassadors by encouraging them to buy his new album once it comes out.
The Slovene final consisted of fourteen finalists. Rybak came on stage after all the finalists had performed. He was met by a cheering crowd, and seemed to be very popular in Slovenia. He sang, of course, his winning song from 2009, Fairytale, and also his new song Europe’s Skies. After the performance he was asked whether he had found his fairytale yet, or not. Rybak replied he had not only found one, but three, and referred to the three girls playing fiddles together with him on stage.
The Slovene attendance in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 will be by the group Anzambel Roka Žlindre & Kalamari with Narodno Zabavni Rock. The song is a combination of two music genres, folk music and rock. The winner was chosen by televoting, and Anzambel Roka Žlindre & Kalamari won a sweeping victory with almost five times more votes than number two.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ljubljana welcomes the Slovene winners to Norway and Oslo in the end of May.
